AMC Pacer is a fairly small car produced by the American Motor Company from 1975 to 1979. Even though it has been called ugly a lot, it still has its fans and some people keep their Pacers in good condition. However, restorers and mechanics aren’t too thrilled about these cars.
The major point of contention is the engine. Being a small car, it was designed with a small engine in mind. A small rotary engine was the intended powerplant for it. However, since it was an American car, designed before all of the environmental regulations, people decided that bigger is better. That’s how this small car ended up with a (comparably) massive 6 liters straight. And there was even a version with an actual V8.

This model included some fantastical futuristic designs, such as LED dashboard, and touchpad controls. Therein lies the main issue with these cars. They are usually mechanically sound and not much different from typical Aston Martin cars from that era. In fact, they share a lot with Aston Martin V8 of the era.
The futuristic electronics design, however, was done manually and it did not stand the test of time. The Time magazine put it best saying that the electronics on the car would be impressive if they actually worked.
Mercedes Benz 600 Grosser
Known as a dictators’ choice car, this machine gives a serious headache to restorers and mechanics alike. This luxury car is entirely operated by hydraulic machinery; everything from the sunroof to the seats and suspension.
While this does give you the luxurious smoothness, it is a nightmare to restore or repair. The oil in the hydraulic system is under 3200 PSI pressure. That is enough pressure to cut you quite badly if you happen to break a line.
Furthermore, if you attempt to open anything by hand, rather than via the hydraulics, you run the risk of breaking it.
Jaguar XJS V12
This is a beautiful car. However, it comes with a slew of problems. It’s really hard to justify trying to rebuild this machine. The primary problem is the V12 engine. It is so complicated, most inexperienced mechanics will probably get a headache just from looking at it. Another big issue with the car is rust which can appear just about anywhere.
